Hello.I'd like to know what procedure do dp's usually follow to test a camera before they go on shoot?A guide into understanding the step by step procedure and parameters on which testing is conducted.thanks!
We've just added a post on our blog on 'Testing Cameras'. Please check it out.
thank you Sir
I'm putting together a post which explains how I go about doing my tests for my films.
I had mentioned in another reply that it should be up by next week. That should help you out a bit I think. :)
Couldn't have agreed more! But I haven't got the answer to my question yet. The question does not imply on why of camera testing but "What".
How do you conduct a test and what exactly are you testing? How do you infer the findings.
Pre Lighting and camera testing should be compulsory. We work very fast which is not needed. Why to adjust your creative thought for someone who doesn't understand why lighting is important.
The number one reason for camera tests (this cannot be emphasized enough) – Ensuring your camera works properly. Plain and simple. Even if you have no intention of doing a pre-light and shooting tests, you MUST perform a test to validate your cameras ability to function as expected.
